中国語の「山寨; シャンザイ」は、有名商品の形態を模して、様々な機能やトレンドを組み合わせて改良された製品の総称である。その模倣行為はオマージュやサンプリングのような再構築の創造であることを強調し、悪質なコピーとは区別されている。
しかし、ただのコピーとも見てとれる山寨製品は、倫理的に許し難く見えることもしばしばある。それゆえに、彼らは創造のオリジナリティの威厳よりもそれによって得られる精神や状況の変化の豊さを重要視しているのではないかと考えが及ぶ。この予感は山寨精神の起こりをたどると「無常」のあらゆる物質の不変を信用しない態度と結びつき、彼ら固有のオリジナリティの概念や時間意識が山寨の創造性に関わっていることを理解する。模倣は学習手段や遊びの一つとして生活を豊かにし、やがて共有財産となった偽物であっても、永続的な組み替えと発展の過程でオリジナリティが見出されている真理に基づけば、山寨の概念は正統性を保っているからである。
私は彼らの山寨精神に基づき、真正の中国文化としての漢詩に着目して「七言絶句」を制作し、販売した。それらは自身の日記から引用し〈百度翻译〉によって翻訳したものである。これは時代の変化を写す私の山寨行為や、中国的な創造の「誤訳」に対する彼らの寛容さを知るための試みであった。

‘Shanzhai’ has been invented in China. It means imitative products innovated by adopting various functions, visual aspects of popular brands or trends. And it also refers to the attitude to such creation. Such as homage or sampling, its creativity is distinguished from maliciously copying.
However, the Shanzhai creation can infringe the value of being original and is thus considered unfair in a moral point of view. By virtue of that, it seems to me that an abundance of the mental and situational changes through creation is outweighed the social appearance/dignity originality has. If you take a look at the backdrop of Chinese culture and religious beliefs, their attitude not to trust every unchageability (Impermanence) would be emphasized and you could find a relation between the attitude and their unique concept of originality or time consciousness. Like imitative creation has essentially assumed a role of learning means or an entertainment for enriching human living and originality has been being found in that process where the common properties of mankind are permanently continuing to be modified and developed, Shanzhai situationally alters its meaning and character, and is always proper.
Based on their Shanzhai-mentality, I focused on the traditional poetry as an authentic Chinese culture and composed Chinese poetries for sale. They were quoted from my diary and translated by means of Baidu Translation. My attempt was to verify the tolerance of Chinese people to my Shanzhai-act and the ‘mistranslation’ as a mirror of change of the times.
