非武装化する武器
Arms that disarm

 

 

メキシコの左翼ゲリラ武装集団「EZLN（サパティスタ民族解放軍）」が二十世紀の終わりに示した市民の政府への抵抗手法は革新的であったとされる。彼等が武力から離れ、インターネットを駆使した国際的な情報戦へと移行したことは、武装闘争によって民間人の犠牲を拡大し、彼等の立場の悪化を目論む政府に対して効果的であった。
しかし、それでも彼等は過去の同胞のマニフェストに沿う形で武装を解除することはなかった。これは、武装が威嚇のためというよりも表現の一部であったと考えられる。私には、そのように武装によって非武装を体現する彼等の態度が、演劇的な暴力で暴力の概念を脱構築するルチャ・リブレのレスラー達と重なってみえた。

 

 

The tactics of resistance demonstrated by the left-wing guerrilla armed group in Mexico, the EZLN (The Zapatista Army of National Liberation), at the end of the twentieth century were considered innovative. Their shift away from armed conflict to engaging in international information warfare through the use of the internet was effective in countering the government's efforts to escalate civilian casualties and worsen their position. However, they never completely disarmed in line with the manifestos of their past comrades. This suggests that their armed status was more than just a means of intimidation; it was part of their expression. To me, their attitude of embodying disarmament through armament resonates with the wrestlers of Lucha Libre, who deconstruct the concept of violence through theatrical violence.
